Lebanon is a country of extremes in many respects.

It’s geopolitical position in the heart of the Middle East means that it has always attracted the keen interest of the big powers as it sits on the front line between Syria and Israel. Yet its location on the southern shores of the Mediterranean also mean that trade and commerce have always been a vital part of the lifeblood of the countries economy. After years of unrest, peace has blossomed just as the countries banking sector is coming into its own. Has Lebanon once again become the Switzerland of the Middle East?
